IT’S US! COLLECTION

It’s US! is inspired by the Juneteenth holiday, celebrating the freedom of black people and acknowledging the strength and self-determination of what it means to seek freedom for African-Americans in the United States. On June 19, 1865, nearly two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, Union soldiers arrived at Galveston Bay, Texas to free more than 250,000 African-Americans by executive order and ensure all enslaved people be freed. This historic day would become known as Juneteenth, taking place every year on June 19 to celebrate black people and the resilience of African-Americans in the fight for freedom.

It’s US! celebrates US and demonstrates the progress black people have made since the formation of the United States.
